Three Killed in Israeli Airstrike on Beirut Suburb

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, an Israeli airstrike hit a building in the Dahiyeh area of southern Beirut, killing three people and injuring seven, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

The Israeli military said the strike targeted a Hezbollah member involved in coordinating attacks with Hamas against Israel. This attack is the second Israeli strike on Beirut in less than a week, raising concerns about the stability of the ceasefire.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strike, calling it a “dangerous warning” and a violation of U.N. Resolution 1701. The airstrike caused significant damage to the upper floors of a residential building, and emergency services responded to the scene. Hezbollah has not yet commented on the incident.

The international community is urging all parties to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation in the region.
