With the dramatic conclusion of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League group stage, the stage is set for a thrilling draw for the knockout stage scheduled for Friday, January 31st at 12:00 CET in Nyon, Switzerland.
With all group-stage matches being played simultaneously on Wednesday evening, the list of teams who will progress directly to the last 16, those who will compete in the knockout playoffs and those who will be eliminated is now confirmed.
This season is the first to feature a new league format in which the top eight teams in the table automatically advance to the last 16.
However, teams ranked 9th to 24th will have to play a home-and-away knockout playoff to secure their place in the last 16.
All eyes will be on the knockout stage draw on Friday, January 31st. The winner will progress to the round of 16, where the competition will ramp up towards the final on 31 May 2025 in Munich.
