Thomas Müller to Leave Bayern Munich After 25 Years

Thomas Müller, a stalwart of Bayern Munich for 25 years, has announced that he will depart the club at the end of the 2024-2025 season. At 35 years old, Müller expressed his desire to continue playing, stating that he still enjoys contributing on the field. However, the club has chosen not to renew his contract, a decision he respects despite his personal wishes.

Throughout his illustrious career, Müller amassed 33 titles with Bayern Munich, including a record 12 Bundesliga championships—the most by any player. He also played a pivotal role in Germany’s 2014 World Cup victory. In his farewell message, Müller emphasized his commitment to achieving the team’s goals for the remainder of the season, expressing a particular desire to win the league title and reach the Champions League final at Munich’s Allianz Arena.

The club plans to honor Müller’s remarkable contributions with a farewell match. While his next destination remains undecided, there is speculation about potential moves, including a possible transition to Major League Soccer (MLS).
