Xi Jinping Reaffirms China-Africa Partnership at AU Summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening ties with Africa in a congratulatory message to the 38th African Union (AU) Summit. His statement, reported by Xinhua on Saturday, highlighted the increasing role of the Global South in addressing global challenges, with China and Africa playing a crucial part in shaping the international landscape.

Xi praised the AU’s leadership in promoting regional integration, overcoming challenges, and amplifying Africa’s global influence as a unified “voice of Africa.” He also emphasized the deepening China-Africa relationship, fueled by the momentum of the successful Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Describing the partnership as an “all-weather community with a shared future,” Xi expressed China’s readiness to work alongside African nations on modernization efforts and strategic initiatives aimed at delivering tangible benefits to the 2.8 billion people across both regions.
