2026 World Cup Final to Feature Super Bowl-Style Half-Time Show – Infantino

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced on Wednesday that the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey will include the first-ever half-time show of its kind, inspired by the Super Bowl. Infantino confirmed the historic plan on Instagram, stating that the event will be held in New York/New Jersey. He revealed that band members from Coldplay, Chris Martin and Phil Harvey, will help choose the artists to perform.

The announcement came after a meeting with FIFA’s commercial and media partners in Dallas ahead of the 2026 tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. While Infantino did not provide further details about the show’s duration or specific performers, he described it as a moment that will be both historic and befitting the biggest sporting event in the world.

This move follows the success of last year’s Copa America final in Miami, where Colombian star Shakira delivered an unforgettable half-time performance at Hard Rock Stadium. Infantino also mentioned that FIFA plans to “take over” New York’s Times Square on the final weekend of the tournament, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.
