Trump Revokes Security Clearances for Biden & Harris Clinton

On Friday, President Donald Trump issued a memorandum revoking the security clearances and access to classified information for several prominent political figures, including former President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The directive also extends to other individuals such as Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and former officials Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, and Lisa Monaco.

This move is perceived as a response to actions taken during the previous administration when President Biden barred Trump from receiving intelligence briefings in 2021, citing concerns about his behavior. Traditionally, former presidents and senior officials retain access to classified information to offer advisory support; however, Trump’s decision marks a departure from this norm.

The revocation of security clearances is largely symbolic, as many of the affected individuals no longer hold positions requiring such access. Nevertheless, the action underscores the heightened political tensions and the administration’s willingness to challenge established protocols concerning national security and information access.
