Messi’s Brace Powers Inter Miami’s Comeback Against LAFC

Lionel Messi scored two goals to lead Inter Miami to a 3-1 victory over Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals, overturning a 1-0 deficit from the first leg to win the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

In the ninth minute, LAFC’s Aaron Long gave his team a 1-0 lead, extending their aggregate advantage to 2-0. Inter Miami needed at least three goals to advance.

Messi ignited the comeback in the 35th minute, finding the net to reduce the deficit. Noah Allen’s header in the 61st minute leveled the aggregate score at 2-2. In the 84th minute, Messi converted a penalty to secure the win.

Inter Miami will face the Vancouver Whitecaps in the semifinals, aiming to continue their historic run in the tournament.
