Al Nassr Prioritises A Move For Duran Over Boniface

Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr is set to choose between Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface and Aston Villa’s John Duran to replace Anderson Talisca, who recently joined Fenerbahce.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote about X on Wednesday: “Either Victor Boniface or John Duran to Al-Nassr… as announced on Monday.” “A decision will be taken in the coming days.”

The Saudi club had previously opened negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over the signing of Boniface, with the German champions valuing the Nigerian player at 50 million euros.

The 24-year-old moved to Leverkusen from Union Saint-Giroise for €20 million in 2023 and recently signed a contract extension until 2029, making him one of the club’s highest-earning players.

Boniface has already rejected the idea of a move to Saudi Arabia, while Victor Osimhen joined Al Ahly last summer.

“No, I’m not thinking about that right now. Your career in Europe is also about money. When the time comes when I need more money, I will think about it,” Boniface said.

“I’m in discussion with the club. We have to wait. “Our preparation for matches remains the same,” Alonso said after Boniface missed training and was ruled out of Leverkusen’s UCL match on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, Boniface has passed his medical at Al Nasr and is expected to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadie Mane in the move.

The Nigerian has scored 29 goals and provided 11 assists in 49 appearances for Leverkusen. He has scored eight goals this season but missed out on a game in November 2024 with a thigh injury. Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reluctant to let go of Duran, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid.
