China’s Xi Vows Stronger Economic Ties with Bangladesh

Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged to deepen economic cooperation with Bangladesh during a meeting with the country’s interim leader, Muhammad Yunus. Xi emphasized that Beijing and Dhaka should “firmly support each other” on core interests and reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

As part of this partnership, several agreements are expected to be signed. These will focus on economic and technical assistance, cultural and sports cooperation, and media collaboration. The initiative aims to enhance trade, investment, and infrastructure development between the two nations.

This development comes as Bangladesh looks to expand its economic partnerships amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in South Asia. Strengthening ties with China could provide new opportunities for growth, particularly in infrastructure, trade, and technology.
