Djokovic Makes History as Oldest Masters 1000 Semi-Finalist in Miami

Novak Djokovic, at 37 years and 10 months, has made history by becoming the oldest player to reach an ATP Masters 1000 semi-final. The Serbian legend achieved this feat with a commanding 6-3, 7-6(4) victory over American Sebastian Korda at the Miami Open. This milestone surpasses the previous record held by Roger Federer, who was 37 years and seven months when he reached the semi-finals in Indian Wells and Miami in 2019.

Djokovic displayed his trademark resilience and precision throughout the match. He dominated on serve, winning 84% of his first-serve points and delivering 11 aces. Despite Korda’s strong challenge, especially in the second set, Djokovic held firm in the tiebreak to secure the win. His experience and tactical intelligence proved decisive in key moments.

With this victory, Djokovic advances to the semi-finals, where he will face 14th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov. The Bulgarian has been in strong form, but Djokovic, a six-time Miami Open champion, will be the favorite as he continues his quest for another title.

This achievement adds another chapter to Djokovic’s legendary career. He is now just two wins away from capturing his 100th tour-level title and a record-breaking seventh Miami Open crown. At an age when most players have retired or slowed down, Djokovic continues to defy expectations, proving why he remains one of the greatest players in tennis history.
