Juventus Shifts Focus from Osimhen to Lookman in Transfer Pursuit

Juventus has reportedly dropped its interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and is now targeting Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman as a potential signing. The Serie A giants had initially considered Osimhen as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, but negotiations have proven difficult due to Napoli’s reluctance to sell him to a direct rival and the hefty price tag attached to the Nigerian forward.

With this setback, Juventus is now eyeing Lookman, who has impressed since joining Atalanta in 2022, with a strong record of 43 goals and 23 assists in 96 appearances. Lookman’s standout moment came in the Europa League final, where he scored a hat-trick, further raising his profile in European football.

Reports indicate that Juventus is considering a player-plus-cash deal, possibly offering Douglas Luiz along with €13 million for Lookman. However, Atalanta is reportedly demanding at least €50 million for the forward.

Juventus may also face competition from other top European clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, both of whom have shown interest in securing Lookman’s services. As the summer transfer window approaches, Juventus’s pursuit of Lookman will depend on several factors, including the future of Vlahovic and Atalanta’s willingness to negotiate a deal. The club is keen on bolstering its attacking options to compete both domestically and in European competitions.
