Man United Stun Everton With Late Comeback

Manchester United staged a dramatic late comeback on Saturday to secure a 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park, avoiding what could have been another damaging defeat.

Everton, under the leadership of returning manager David Moyes, dominated the first half and appeared poised for a comfortable victory. The Toffees exploited United’s defensive vulnerabilities, with Beto opening the scoring in the 19th minute after a goalmouth scramble. Their lead was doubled when Abdoulaye Doucoure capitalized on a defensive lapse by Harry Maguire to head home after Andre Onana had saved Jack Harrison’s initial shot.

United struggled for most of the game but found a way back in the final stages. Bruno Fernandes curled in a free-kick with 18 minutes left, and Manuel Ugarte fired home eight minutes later to complete the comeback.

The visitors nearly faced a late heartbreak when referee Andrew Madley awarded Everton a penalty after Ashley Young went down under Maguire’s challenge. However, a VAR review overturned the decision, allowing United to escape with a crucial point.

The result eased some pressure on United boss Ruben Amorim, who avoided what would have been his ninth league defeat in 13 matches.
