Putin Proposes Interim Government for Ukraine Under UN Supervision

Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested the formation of an interim government in Ukraine, overseen by the United Nations, as part of efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict. This proposal comes amid continued hostilities between Russian and Ukrainian forces, with no clear path to a peace settlement.

According to sources, Putin believes an interim administration could help stabilize Ukraine and pave the way for negotiations. He reportedly envisions a transitional government that would operate under international supervision, ensuring a controlled political shift. However, Ukraine and its Western allies remain skeptical, viewing the proposal as a possible attempt by Russia to exert influence over Ukraine’s leadership.

The UN has yet to officially respond to Putin’s suggestion, and analysts predict strong resistance from Kyiv, which insists on full sovereignty and the withdrawal of Russian forces as preconditions for peace talks. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue, with international leaders seeking a resolution to the prolonged war.
