The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that its air defense systems shot down 77 Ukrainian drones overnight, marking one of the largest drone attacks in recent weeks. The drones were reportedly intercepted over multiple regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk, all of which border Ukraine and have been frequent targets of past strikes.
According to Russian authorities, the drone attack caused minor damage in some areas, but there were no reports of casualties. Moscow accused Kyiv of intensifying its use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to target infrastructure and military positions inside Russia.
Ukraine has not officially commented on the incident, but it has previously acknowledged the use of drones for reconnaissance and strategic strikes. The attack comes amid heightened tensions as both countries continue to escalate aerial warfare while fighting on the ground remains intense, particularly in eastern Ukraine.
