Russia Launches Massive Missile and Drone Strike on Ukraine

According to Ukraine’s air force, Russia carried out an overnight attack primarily aimed at the country’s gas extraction industry. The assault involved a total of 67 missiles, which included 43 cruise missiles, three Kalibr ballistic missiles, and eight Kh-59/69 missiles. In addition, Russian forces launched 194 drones.

The Ukrainian air force stated that it successfully intercepted part of the attack by shooting down 33 cruise missiles, one Kh-59/69 missile, and 100 drones. F-16 and Mirage 2000 jets were used to repel the offensive.

Notably, this was the first time French Mirage 2000 planes were deployed in Ukraine since arriving a month ago. More details on the situation are expected to follow.
