According to Ukraine’s air force, Russia carried out an overnight attack primarily aimed at the country’s gas extraction industry. The assault involved a total of 67 missiles, which included 43 cruise missiles, three Kalibr ballistic missiles, and eight Kh-59/69 missiles. In addition, Russian forces launched 194 drones.
The Ukrainian air force stated that it successfully intercepted part of the attack by shooting down 33 cruise missiles, one Kh-59/69 missile, and 100 drones. F-16 and Mirage 2000 jets were used to repel the offensive.
Notably, this was the first time French Mirage 2000 planes were deployed in Ukraine since arriving a month ago. More details on the situation are expected to follow.
