Feyenoord Rotterdam has officially announced the appointment of Robin van Persie as the club’s new head coach, ushering in a new era for the Eredivisie giants.
Feyenoord Confirms Appointment
“The next chapter starts here. Robin van Persie, welcome home again,” the club stated in an official announcement on Sunday.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Netherlands international and Feyenoord legend has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
A Legendary Return
Van Persie, who enjoyed a stellar playing career with Feyenoord, Arsenal, and Manchester United, now transitions into management at De Kuip, embarking on a new phase of his football journey.
Romano confirmed Van Persie’s appointment last Friday via a post on X (formerly Twitter), also revealing that René Hake will join him as part of his coaching team.
René Hake Joins as Assistant Coach
Hake, who previously worked as an assistant to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, brings valuable coaching experience to Feyenoord’s backroom staff. His presence is expected to provide crucial tactical support as Van Persie takes charge of the team.
With this appointment, Feyenoord looks to build on its recent success and maintain its competitive edge in Dutch and European football.
