Neymar Returning To Boyhood Club In Santos

According to sources who spoke to ESPN on Sunday, Neymar Jr., the superstar of Brazil and Al Hilal, is getting closer to returning to his boyhood club, Santos.

Although the specifics are still being worked out, sources tell ESPN that Neymar’s contract with Al Hilal will probably be terminated.

A post taken from Fabrizio Romano’s X handle on Sunday claims that Neymar’s return to Santos is now imminent due to a verbal agreement.

“Next week, formal procedures will be followed for the final Al Hilal transaction formula and contract inspection. The post stated that Neymar had already agreed to the transfer.

Neymar is scheduled to travel to Brazil this week if the agreement with Santos is finalized, and he may play for Santos as early as February 5, which is also his 33rd birthday.

Remember how the world’s most expensive football player paid $97.6 million to join Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023?

The 32-year-old only played in seven league and cup games, scoring one goal against Nassaji Mazandaran in an AFC Champions League group stage encounter on October 3, 2023.

When Neymar scored in the second leg of the final, a 2-1 victory over Peñarol, Santos won the Copa Libertadores in 2011. Neymar started his professional career with Santos in 2009.

Neymar has made 128 appearances for Brazil at the international level and has scored 79 goals, setting a Selecao record. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, which Brazil hosted, he was a member of the team that took home the gold medal.
