The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence that the people of Ebonyi State will overwhelmingly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
According to the minister, the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in Ebonyi State, where Peter Obi of the Labour Party secured victory, was an “accident of history” that does not reflect the state’s long-term political direction.
Furthermore, Umahi maintained that ongoing development initiatives and infrastructure projects under the current administration would strengthen public support for President Tinubu in future elections.
Infrastructure Development Cited as Key Factor
The minister pointed to ongoing federal infrastructure projects, particularly road construction and rehabilitation across different parts of the country, as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development.
He argued that these projects are delivering tangible benefits to citizens and are expected to increase public confidence in the government’s policies and programmes.
